Need help with Cloakshot?
Tell us which device you use, what went wrong, and what you were doing when it happened. Redact screenshots first or recreate the problem with made-up data.
Getting started
- Open Cloakshot and choose a photo, or try the included synthetic sample.
- Cloakshot scans on device for sensitive text, faces, QR codes, barcodes, GPS, and photo metadata.
- Review every highlighted region and the rest of the image yourself.
- Adjust or add masks, choose which metadata to remove, then export a separate redacted copy.
Using the Cloakshot extension
In Photos or another compatible app, select one PNG, JPEG, or HEIC image, tap Share, then choose Cloakshot. If it is not visible, open the Share Sheet's action editor and enable it.
Photo access
The app only needs access to the images you choose. If selection is unavailable, open iOS or Android Settings, find Cloakshot, and check photo access.
Scanning and privacy
On iOS, scanning uses Apple Vision. Android uses bundled ML Kit. Cloakshot also applies local rules and bundled models, and it does not upload images or detected text.
There is no account, ad tracking, developer-operated behavior analytics, or crash-reporting SDK. RevenueCat checks anonymous Lifetime purchase status. The optional iOS trial performs one device-verification request. Android ML Kit may send Google operational metrics, but not the image or detection results. Read the full Privacy Policy.
Detection limitations
Automatic detection can miss something or mark the wrong area. A scan with no findings is not a privacy guarantee. Check the whole image and add a manual mask for anything the app missed.
